Where You Start
Orientation- Learn about the different opportunities at our media center. This class is a prerequisite for all WMC course offerings.
Studio Elements- Learn how to set up all the necessary elements for in-studio productions. We will dive into how our Broadcast Pix switcher works, how to control our 3 robotic cameras in the studio as well as touch on the basics of our Allen&Heath audio mixer. This class will immerse you in the many layers of the control room. Prerequisite: Orientation
Studio Switcher- Get behind the controls of the Broadcast Pix Switcher and learn how to technical direct your next show. In this course, we will break down the many facets of the studio switcher. Covering everything from how to cut between cameras, adding and customizing graphics and videos and effectively using the green screen. Prerequisite: Studio Elements
Studio Lighting- With a brand new lighting grid in the studio this class will cover the most effective way to light the studio. We will dive into the lighting board and the functions of the different lights. Lighting techniques will be demonstrated and then you will get to put them in action! Prerequisite: Studio Elements
HD Camera- This hands-on workshop introduces you to the Sony NXCAM. You will learn the proper way to set up a tripod, dive deep into menu settings to fully understand the camera and explore the audio options this camera has to offer. Prerequisite: Orientation
Field Lighting- In this course, you will learn all about the 3 different kinds of field lights we have available. We will discuss how to control and set up each individual light and also learn about light theory, color temperature, and the 3-point lighting technique. Prerequisite: HD Camera
Editing on Adobe Premiere- Adobe Premiere is a top of the line editing software. We will cover the basics of how to open and save a project, learn editing terminology and practice cutting together film clips for maximum exposure. Prerequisite: Orientation
